What is Desautel.net?

My name is David Desautel, and this is my main web site - the home of desautel.net. I have been a life-long computer professional, and have been online since before the Internet (remember the old dial-up BBs?).  I have had a personal web site on the web since the mid-90's.  I had a daily thoughts page long before the first Blog ever came out.

Originally, my sites were just about me, my family, and things like my daily thoughts page (Logically Speaking) and my poetry (Poetry Corner).  But now-a-days, great hosting sites like the one I use (bluehost) allow you to do almost anything, using up huge amounts of disk space and bandwidth, all for a very cheap price.  Just great!

So, I have expanded my Web presence to include several different sites, which you can see listed under "Dave's Other Sites" on the main menu (on the left).  These include my own blogging site for Baby Boomers (where I can set you up with your own blog), my semi-commercial photography site (where you can see my photos, download low resolution versions for free, or pay a few bucks for the full-sized versions), My Liberal political blog (The Reverse SPIN - coming soon), and my poetry site (still under construction) where i will have links to my self-published books of poems, softcover and Kindle electronic versions.  I encourage you to visit them all.

In regards to Desautel.net itself, I am using it partially as a portal to my other sites, and partially as an information site for myself and my new and future family (my new love Malen, currently living in the Philippines has three children in their teens).  Also, others with a surname in the Desautel family of names (Desautel, Desautelle, Desautels, DeSautel, DesAutel, Dezotel, etc.) can register here and post news about themselves or their family.  They can also have a free full-blown email account at desautel.net!  Just register on the site and use the "Contact Me" link to let me know what you want for an email address (xxxx@desautel.net).  First come first serve.

Thanks,

Dave
